Angel Policy
Angel Policy for patterns downloaded from thefernery.co.uk
My Angel Policy covers downloads for PATTERNS only – it does not in any way refer to tutorials and techniques (for example my ‘Make your own Fabric Product Labels’ or ‘Transferring Lettering onto Fabric’ Tutorials), which are not to be shared or reproduced in any way, by any means - reproducing the content in your own style, rewording my tutorial, forwarding the PDF Files or sharing hard copies of my content is not permitted.
I love sharing the process of the items I make, and inspiring others to do something that I enjoy so much. I’ve made a good living for fifteen years from designing and making gorgeous fabric pieces, and now am looking forward to sharing more of these designs and helping you to develop your creativity. Please do share your finished makes, and tag @thefernery in your photos, I love to see your finished items!
My Tutorials are not to be copied, reproduced or shared online, including social media, either in part or in their entirety. Your PDF Downloads are for personal use, only by the person who purchased the file. If you would like to purchase a license to use this design within a sewing group or club setting I am more than happy to arrange this for you, please do get in touch.
The designs you’ve downloaded remain the property of The Fernery. You have obtained them by purchasing a tutorial, which gives you the right to make unlimited items for personal use, including gifting.
Selling your Makes
The PDF you have purchased permits you to sell your finished items, up to a maximum of 100 items per purchased design in any 12 month period, provided that they are handmade entirely by you and not made on a larger scale, by a team, or production line basis.
You may sell in person, on your website or on an online marketplace. For me to approve this, you need to send a courtesy email to orders@thefernery.co.uk letting me know the business name you’ll be selling under, and showing a link to the product listing. Please credit The Fernery for the pattern in your small print, but DO NOT advertise your own makes as a Fernery product (my name must not be used in product tags, SEO, or any advertising). It must be made explicitly clear that the item was not made by me. If you are in any way unclear about any of the items you plan to sell, do drop me an email so I can clarify.
Please do not sell altered or modified versions of my design by any means. For example, if you have downloaded one of my Fairy Tutorials, you have purchased the rights to sell that exact Fairy design only. This does not permit the selling of altered or edited outfits or hairstyles for that Fairy. There will be numerous different designs released over time, and if you would like to sell a variety of designs, you will need to download each tutorial (and therein the rights) for that specific design. You are permitted to ‘mix and match’ elements of any and all Fairy tutorials you have downloaded.
The sewing community runs on a fabulous system of shared ethics, and honesty. We respect each others right to earn a small fee for occasionally sharing skills and ideas and intellectual property. Whilst I can’t police the whole internet, I like to tell myself that my customers and followers live by the same morals as I do – please don’t be the one who spoils this illusion for me!
If you are in any doubt about any of the points included in my Angel Policy, please do drop me an email to clarify – It’s always better to ask for permission than forgiveness!
