Who says littlies are the only ones who need birthday badges?
These gorgeous flowers are around 6x6cm and are just perfect for a birthday night out. They come as a kit for you to hand piece and sew together, including a gorgeous selection of buttons, sparkles and ribbon - use as many of the items included as you like to embellish this pretty piece to wear yourself or gift to a friend.
Your kit will be put together by me in my Sussex studio, with your choice of colours and fabrics. I'll pick the components from the very same stash of goodies I use to sew these badges for my customers, and send you everything you need to make one of your own.
These kits have been designed to be simple and fun to make, for any ability. A basic knowledge of hand sewing is helpful (you'll need to do some small, neat running stitches and back stitch) but there are no tricky embroidery stitches to learn - just simple applique.
Included in the kit will be:
- A full instruction booklet giving you step by step details of how to make your badge
- Two pieces of good quality wool felt to construct the badge on, one interfaced to stiffen your finished decoration.
- Your Flower components, pre-cut from good quality fabrics, and backed with a heat fix material so you can iron them carefully in position before you stitch.
- A selection of tiny 3mm sequins, and a few pretty buttons and beads
- A length of three colours of Gutermann sew-all thread, on a reusable thread spool
- A silver-coloured brooch back
- some small pieces of ribbon to use as embellishment
- A cuppa and a biscuit for sustenance!

You will need a few simple things:
- A fine needle, ideally a size 11 sharps - you can request to have one included in your kit if you don't have one at home.
- An iron (with the steam off)
- Tweezers can be handy, but are by no means essential
- Scissors to cut around your finished badge
- A dab of fabric glue or PVA is helpful, if you have it

Please note that the fabrics in your kit will be exactly as shown, but the embellishments may vary just a little as they are hand picked from my button and sequin boxes. You will always receive plenty to make something as shown in my photos.
