Transferring Lettering onto Fabric - digital download
Transferring Lettering onto Fabric - digital download
I've been transferring text onto my work to stitch over for over 12 years now, and after countless requests from fellow makers, I've finally put together a comprehensive guide so that you can do the same!
What's Included in Your Digital Download?
You will receive a 9 page step by step tutorial will full colour photos and written instructions telling you exactly how I transfer printed text onto my fabric using basic household materials. You will also receive a template allowing you to easily use my method by just overwriting with your own text, in any font and size you need, so you really don't need any technical knowledge or computer skills for this. This tutorial does not teach you how to stitch, by machine or by hand, it is purely for the lettering transfers.
(I'm in the UK, but the product used is widely available in the US too!)
It’s a simple technique that will allow you to personalise pieces quickly and easily, without the need to soak anything off. I’ve used this method in my studio for over 12 years, and is the way I create a lot of the designs you see in my work. You can transfer anything you can print out, so it’s not limited to lettering, but that’s how I use it.
Lots of people share techniques that involve you putting your fabric through your printer, but mine doesn't ask you to do this - meaning less risk of jamming your printer, and no chance of ruining your fabric! Because of this, there are no limits as to what you can transfer lettering onto using my method - have a half finished quilt top you've just decided you'd like to personalise? This is perfect for you! Want to add some text to a store-bought sweatshirt? My method is ideal!
You will be emailed a link so that you can download the template and tutorial. The PDF will open in your web browser, but you will need Microsoft Word to complete the labels - you can use the free web version if you do not already have it on your device.
You will not need a cricut to complete this tutorial, but you will need access to a basic inkjet printer. All other materials will be detailed, with links in case you need to buy anything, once you've purchased the tutorial.
Please note that all digital products are non-refundable.
This tutorial allows you to download the guide twice. This is done so that you can put it on two separate devices if needed. Please be sure to save your download somewhere you will be able to locate it again later, as I will not be able to forward it to you again due to each download link being personalised to the email address it was originally sent to.
